Universities
- Nha Trang University: A public, multidisciplinary university with strengths in fisheries, food technology, engineering, economics and fields related to the marine economy. The university is located at 02 Nguyen Dinh Chieu Street, Bac Nha Trang Ward.
- Khanh Hoa University: The province's public higher education institution, offering programs in teacher education, social sciences, humanities, languages, culture and tourism.

2. Colleges in Khanh Hoa
In addition to university education, the province's vocational education system plays an important role in supplying practical and skilled workers for the economy, service industries, technical fields and healthcare.
According to information released by the province during its review of the education system, the colleges include:
- Nha Trang Central College of Education: Trains personnel in education, particularly early childhood education and other teacher-training disciplines.
- Nha Trang College of Tourism: Provides training in tourism, restaurants, hotels and services.
- Khanh Hoa Medical College: Trains personnel in healthcare and medical services.
- Nha Trang College of Engineering and Technology: Offers training in engineering, technology and applied vocational fields.
- Khanh Hoa College of Technology and Energy: Provides training in technical, technological and energy-related fields.
One notable change following the administrative restructuring took place on February 28, 2026, when Ninh Thuan Medical College was merged into Khanh Hoa Medical College. The receiving college took over the former institution's personnel, finances, assets and students in full. Therefore, the two colleges should no longer be listed as separate institutions.

Healthcare, vaccines and veterinary science
- Pasteur Institute of Nha Trang: Conducts research, epidemiological surveillance, infectious disease control and preventive healthcare activities.

- Research Institute for Aquaculture No. 3: Conducts research on aquaculture, aquatic seed production, farming techniques and the development of aquatic resources. This is the correct name to use instead of the generic term “Fisheries Research Center No. 3” found in the previous list.
- Institute of Fisheries Science and Technology – Nha Trang University: Conducts research and applies science and technology in fisheries exploitation, preservation and development.
- Shipbuilding Research Institute – Nha Trang University: Conducts research and applies technology in the design, construction and development of watercraft.
Science and technology research
- Nha Trang Institute of Technology Research and Application (NITRA): A research and technology application institution within the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology. One of its research directions is the extraction of fucoidan compounds from brown seaweed.
- Khanh Hoa Center for Science and Technology Application: Carries out the application, transfer and dissemination of scientific and technological advances for production and daily life.
- Khanh Hoa Center for Technical Standards, Metrology and Quality: Provides technical services related to standards, measurement and the quality of products and goods.

- South Central Regional Hydro-Meteorological Center: Conducts monitoring, forecasting and provides meteorological and hydrological information for daily life, production and disaster prevention.
- Central Water Resources Planning and Investigation Federation: Conducts surveys, investigations and research on water resources to support water planning and management.
