Long Son Pagoda, built in 1886, is located at the foot of Trai Thuy Hill in Nha Trang City. Despite numerous renovations due to natural disasters and wars, the pagoda remains the largest Buddhist center in Khanh Hoa province.
The most striking feature of the pagoda is the over 20-meter-tall statue of the Golden Buddha (White Buddha), situated on the hilltop and visible from many areas of the city. The statue was built to commemorate the monks, nuns, and Buddhist followers who sacrificed themselves in the 1963 Buddhist struggle, and also to express the aspiration for peace and compassion.
The spacious and tranquil grounds of Long Son Pagoda include the main hall, lecture hall, and auxiliary structures, all built in traditional Buddhist architecture. It is not only a place of worship and meditation for Buddhists but also a popular destination for tourists and visitors seeking to learn about spiritual culture.
Long Son Pagoda is a harmonious blend of religious, historical, and scenic values, contributing to the distinctive cultural identity of Nha Trang city.
